Facebook Insights: Post-wise reach data available on the Timeline

Facebook‘s newest feature in their insights category will now allow page owners to see exactly what percentage of their brand’s fans see each post. An earlier EdgeRank study had revealed that on an average, a postreaches only 16% of the page’s fans in their news feed.
This will be available to the page admins on the Timeline itself, and will not require them to view it from the insights dashboard. As seen in the screenshot above, the admin will be able to see the percentage of fans reached, as well as the percentage who saw the post through paid promotions.
Nearly a billion pieces of content are shared on Facebook each day, and it is getting increasingly difficult for brands to make their content stand out and make place in the News Feed. This feature will allow the page managers to see exactly the kind of reach that each post has, and it will help them make a decision about how to supplement their content with paid advertising, whether it is in the form of sponsored stories or ads, or by using the Reach Generator.
The Reach Generator, which was announced at the Facebook Marketing Conference on Februray 29 this year, is a new premium advertising solution for clients who are looking to reach a higher percentage of users. It allows advertisers to pay Facebook on an ongoing basis, to sponsor one page post every day, and it guarantees a 75 percent reach of the page’s fan-base over a month-long period.
The new feature is only available for some pages now, and will be rolled out for all pages soon.
Do you think this is a useful new feature? Would having post-wise reach data help you in taking decisions about paid Facebook promotions? Have you tried the Reach Generator? Share with us.
