No More Thumbs-Up: Facebook Rolls Out New Like Button

Clicking the “thumbs up” button to Like Facebook posts will soon be a thing of the past following a rollout of newly redesigned Like and Share buttons from the social network this week.
The redesign has made the logo a darker shade, changed its font and replaced the network’s ubiquitous cartoon thumbs-up with a lower-case “f” instead.  The Like button was introduced in 2010 and has become a key driver of Facebook referral traffic for media, businesses and nonprofits.
“Together, the Like and Share buttons are viewed over 22 billion times daily across more than 7.5 million websites,” according to a Facebook blog post announcing the new buttons. The company says the redesign has already seen “a favorable increase in Likes and Shares.” The newly designed buttons should be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks. Websites currently using the old Like button will automatically upgrade to the new design.
